This is an excellent opportunity to join the Strategic Initiatives group in Cisco WebEx and contribute to the development of online business community platform. To serve as a senior member of technical staff, this individual must possess strong technical knowledge. They will be responsible for delivering high quality software sub-systems that integrate well with the rest of the application. Overall Responsibilities: • “Own” the design & development of at least one major software sub-system of an online community. • Provide reasonably accurate time estimates and plan tasks and activities in close coordination with other members of the team. • Work closely with the architect and other members of the team to build a high quality product. • Create unit tests, build scripts and other such artifacts besides implementing the business logic, GUI components and widgets. • Effectively communicate with product and development managers and provide clear and concise status for the owned sub-systems. • Document the design and implementation of the sub-systems and clearly communicate this to technical writers and QA engineers. • Provide guidance to and mentor junior members of the team. Qualification and Experience: • 7+ years working on software development. • Must have a good foundation in computer science including algorithms and data structures. • Strong Object Oriented design and development skills; exposure to software architecture and design patterns. • Basic working knowledge of databases - database access, database design • Exposure to Java libraries and frameworks- concurrent utilities (threads), JMS, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate, iBatis, Struts • Exposure to XML and related technologies, SSO, Freemarker, DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, JAVA and related technologies. • Hands-on experience on configuring and deploying Tomcat and other J2EE servers. • Must have, source code control systems such as RCS or CVS and build systems such as Make and ANT • Some exposure to building software for performance, fault tolerance and scale is desirable. • Must be motivated and positive with strong interpersonal skills. A four year BE / BS degree required. ME / MTech / MS desired.
