Job Description Summary
This senior network engineering position is responsible for the proper operation of the WebEx MediaTone and Corporate networks and to ensure that the network infrastructure is operating within the design specifications.
Additional tasks are to collect operational and trend statistics, to analyze and to publish performance results. There will be participation in WebEx product engineering discussions and design reviews. The results shall be design recommendations for upgrades and to drive future network architectures.
This position is expected to provide advanced technical support for issues that are escalated from the Network and Data Center Operations teams and is the top escalation point for all critical network related issues; training and knowledge transfers to other network team members are also expected.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operation of the WebEx MediaTone and corporate network environments - Capacity and performance management of existing infrastructure - Execute routine changes and deployments - Architect of large, complex and scalable network designs - Develop standards, procedures and other documentation - Network subject matter and policy expert - Participate in product engineering and marketing design forums - Fault isolation, recovery and problem analysis - Provide level 3 technical support to the operations teams - Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations - Continuously identify and leverage new technologies or methodologies - Provide direction and training for other network engineers - Vendor management
Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience (7+ years), no less than 5 years. Hands-on design, operation and support of large, high-availability, global enterprise networks.
Troubleshooting complex networks and applications. Hand on work with hardware.
Most important protocols: IP routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IP Multicast, MPLS. Heavy routing protocols experience.
TCP/IP fundamentals (packet level analysis)
Network protocols including TCP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, Mail
Network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, load-balancing.
Network applications including encryption, offloading, content switching Primarily a tech support position 24X7 on call rotations as needed.

Education and Personal - BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related experience. - Expert level industry certification (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE) - Creative problem solving and design - Function well in a team as well as individually - Excellent written and oral communications skills (American English primary) - Strong organizational skills
